Additional volunteer editors are needed to join the Audio Dharma Transcript Team, co-coordinated by Leslie Kanno and Meg Gawler. We are planning a progressive process of recruiting new editors, and the pace will depend on our training capacity.
The Audio Dharma transcript project aims to edit Gil Fronsdal’s short morning talks (dharmettes) in order to make transcripts available on Audio Dharma and out into the cybersphere. These talks are appreciated and used by teachers, sitting groups, and practitioners worldwide.
Our experience is that the editing process allows volunteers to dive intimately into the teachings in a way that deepens our understanding. We work together as a team to transform the Edited Voice/text files into well-written transcripts, taking into account grammar, punctuation, readability, and above all clarity and fidelity to Gil’s teaching.
We have clear guidelines. New volunteer editors will be trained progressively by Leslie. We ask that you begin by offering two (or more) hours a week of your time.
The Transcript Team has two core values in terms of our process:
- Each one of us works at our own rhythm, and our availability naturally changes when we go on retreat or have family or other commitments.
- We work together as a team, reviewing one another’s work and offering constructive suggestions.
And it helps if you are patient and not allergic to details. ☺️
If you are interested in applying, please write to Hilary Borison, the IMC Volunteer Director (imc.volunteerdirector@gmail.com).
In advance, thank you for your invaluable contribution to sharing the Dharma worldwide!
