Our sangha meetings bring a dharmic perspective to the climate crisis while we educate ourselves about wise actions to take to care for our home, the Earth. In this meeting we will meditate on our emotional and somatic responses to the current news about the climate crisis, practice lovingkindness for all beings and the Earth, and discuss the observance of Vipassana Earth Week—its meaning for our practice and the sangha.
Vipassana Earth Care Week was launched in 2013 by teachers gathered at the International Vipassana Teachers meeting at Spirit Rock. In proposing the annual observance, the teachers were responding to a request for teachings on Climate Change signed by more than 2000 practitioners. IMC has honored this event for most of the last 10 years.
